After a two year sabbatical, and after having run for elected office and participated in two campaigns for appointment to fill Circuit Court vacancies here in Kalamazoo, I chose to return to serving people in private practice of law. My practice has always been in civil litigation, almost entirely contingent fee representation of injured persons in damage claims, and workers compensation cases. I expect to be able to serve also in other civil litigation, including family law issues where people need a calm, thoughtful and trusted advocate to help them solve serious problems.

Many of you know I have volunteered at Legal Aid on Wednesdays and Fridays since the November election. While I won't be spending two full days a week there anymore, my new professional arrangement allows me the flexibility to still contribute time and advice there as well as continue as chair of Loaves and Fishes, and actively continue to lead High Adventure expeditions with Boy Scout Troop 205.
